Traditionally the Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen connects us with the energy that transmits healing across space and time. It is always used during absentee sessions, where the practitioner works on an individual in a remote location. It assists in connecting a healer and patient at the quantum level of being, where all matter becomes undifferentiated pure energy.

The Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen is an extremely deep and powerful symbol. It has the ability to assist in quieting the mind, restoring a sense of mental balance and peace. Yet the most powerful use of this symbol is in hands on or self healing sessions. Often translated to mean "no past, no present, no future," the Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen has the capability of piercing the veil of illusion related to time.
